We’ll about 6 or so month’s ago I was listening to a deeply sad and depressing Movie about General Motors Destroying a hole bunch of Electric cars. They were quiet and fast, produced no exhaust and ran without gasoline. I have always dream t of owning an electric car just for small trip’s here and there.
Now the movie has finally been released here in Australia as of the 2 November 2006.
The cars name was the EV1.
For me the electric car would have been an excellent way of cutting our C02 Car emission at lease until we have a hydrogen economy. Which seems to be getting harder to reach with our current Australian Government being so in love with there so called “Clean Coal”. I guess easy money will always be the Governments main motivation.
There are many different type’s of electric car now being made all over the globe but it seems the problem is getting them Road registered here in Australia. What would they be registered as? Would we need a new category for electric cars?
or perhaps it’s just because you would no longer have to spend so much money maintaining the engine as %40 of car Manufacturing revenue comes from after sale’s repairs and servicing.
In 1996, electric cars began to appear on roads all over California.. “Who Killed the Electric Car?” chronicles the life and mysterious death of the GM EV1.
Who Killed the Electric Car is Director ed by Chris Paine and Stars: Chelsea Sexton, Alexandra Paul, Phyllis Diller, Peter Horton, Mel Gibson.
