I was watching an episode of Motorway patrol filmed in New Zealand tonight and it was reported that a truck drive driving along High way #6 missed a man lying in the middle of the road.
The cops then stated on film they would try and locate the male to firstly see if he was ok, then move him on.

They came across a shadowy figure on the road…… a man in dark clothing walking in the middle of the street trying to get home.
He was drinking and had a can in his hand at the time the cop showed up, they ask him " Why are you walking in the middle of the road????
He replies " I’m trying to get to (his home town) Can I have a lift home please? Instant from behind the camera a female voice firmly and quickly responded NO.
The male cop who approached him first then said " we arent going to (his home town)..

He stopped in at Hamilton Police station earlier that day after an officer told him to go there and ask for a lift home after being arrested two days earlier.
He asked for a lift home, they also refused, saying their were no STAFF going that way……. ( I don’t know about his back ground.)

The male officer then suggested to him that walking in the day time would be better… ..!!!! WTF.
The male then placed his can on the road and firmly but drunkly told the cop that he had a curfew given to him by the same lady standing to the side of him…for 10.30 that night to be at home.

He is then moved to the side of the road, the cop telling him to " come here come here…" the man then replies " don’t come here to me." which I thought was a good come back.
He gave him 3 options :
1) Your NOT walking home tonight…
2)
we arent going to leave you on the side of the road…so what are we going to do?????

The man then states that he has walked " Half the F#@@ing way…..
and then…
the cop said we could lock you up for dishordialy conduct… what the… and for what??? trying to get home.!!
Apparently walking home in the dark in the middle of the road is against the law and his understandable behavior.

He is then arrested on the spot.

On the way to the station he is repeatingly asking to be taken home and they just laughed at him.
The cop then stated that " The means in which he tried to go home was a danger to his life"…
He then told him to wait till the morning and catch a bus… for gods sake.
