UPDATE: There has been a Firefox3 Vulnerability found.

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Just after installing and setting up Firefox3 I find out that there’s a vulnerability. I must say very unusual that this type of serious expliot has been released.
Mind you IE has a plethora of bugs that are still not fixed, Atleast we can expect an update soon from the mozilla community.

Five hours after Mozilla officially released Firefox 3.0, researchers found a vulnerability in the new browser.

Tipping Point has verified the bug and reported it to Mozilla, Tipping Point said on Wednesday.

Since Mozilla is still working on a fix, the researchers won’t share details about the problem. Tipping Point ranked the severity of the vulnerability as high, but said that users would have to click on a link in an e-mail or visit a malicious Web page before being affected. The issue affects users of Firefox 3.0 as well as Firefox 2.0.

Apparently once the problem is fixed, Tipping Point will be publish an advisory on its Web site, it said.

Firefox 3 is available for download.

Damn now that’s fast!!! Firefox 3 is already here and ready to be downloaded here.

I had installed previous beta’s of ff3 to see how stable it was and how some of my websites looked in it.

I must say it was scratchy when it first came out but notably faster than previous version’s . Unfortunately it didn’t support firebug at the time so I reverted back to firefox2.

But know it’s released and I have installed the latest version and I all my add-ons work, all my bookmarks automatically moved. A++
